LVL-Stroyproekt

“LVL-Storyproekt” JSC was established in 2005, on the bases of “LVL-Ugra” mill, for production of frame buildings as the most efficient application of LVL.

The company’s structure includes: design office dealing with projects of different complexity, and building and assembly division specializing in frame houses construction.

Today, frame housing technology is one of the most developed construction technology in the world. Thanks to wide range of wood frame applications, cost effectiveness, quality and efficiency, 80% of private housing in western countries is currently performed with use of wood frame technology.

Compared to other practices of low-rise housebuilding, frame technology provides a great advantage in terms of price/quality ratio. Depending on a particular space-planning decision, cost savings can reach 40% due to:

  • minimal material consumption,
  • factory-built elements of wall panels and roof structures, which ensure high dimensional accuracy and no need in time-consuming adjustment at building site,
  • short time period of construction (an average cottage frame can be erected within 3-4 weeks without lifting devices).

Construction technology

Foundation

The most important and time-consuming stage of construction is foundation. Thanks to light weight of frame houses (5-6 times lighter than houses made of bricks), they do not need heavy foundations, which reduce the total cost of buildings and time of their construction. The foundation can be both monolith and columnar.

Walls

The walls rest upon a bearing frame made of LVL beams and dry planed timber. Stud walls are notable width=100% width=100% for cost-effectiveness and lightness: 1,5-2 times less wood is required for their construction, compared to log or block walls. With use of effective heat insulation, stud walls are two times lighter than those constructed under other technologies. Such walls are not subject to shrinkage and can be decorated right after assembly.

Wall paneling

Walls are paneled with LVL at their both sides. Outer walls are filled with heat insulation. Additional insulation in inner walls also allows to reduce heat loss and enhances sound insulation, thus keeping microclimate conditions of each particular room.

Indoor decoration is made with plasterboards, which is mounted to the frame above steam protection film used to avoid dampen insulation or wood.

Stud walls have no limitations in decoration options (painting, siding, cement-sand plates, facade plaster, bricks, heat insulation panels, blockhouse, etc.).

“LVL-Storyproekt” has plans for development at Russian construction market, introducing the modern technology of built-up wooden structures and buildings of LVL.
